County Line Chiropractic Medical and Rehab Center advises drivers to be alert and careful on the roads due to the influx of car crashes June through August.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., July 11, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In an effort to improve safety for everyone throughout the

summer, County Line Chiropractic Medical and Rehab Center advises drivers to be alert and careful on the roads due to the influx of car crashes June through August.

Car accidents historically climb during the dangerous time between Memorial Day and Labor Day. The South Florida Chiropractic Centers wants to highlight why car crashes increase during the summer months.

A leading factor of the spike in car accidents is schools being out and more teens being on the roads. Studies have found that teenagers spend approximately 44 more percent of their time behind the wheel in the summer than during the school year. This leads to more inexperienced drivers on the road for longer time periods and increases the risk of crashes. According to AAA, the average number of deaths from crashes involving teen drivers ages 16-19 increased 16 percent per day compared to other days of the year.

Research from AAA Foundation has also found that 60 percent of teen crashes involve distraction. In collaboration with researchers at the University of Iowa, AAA analyzed the moments leading up to a crash in more than 2,200 videos captured from in-car dash cameras and found that 12 percent of crashes involved a teen talking, texting, or operating a mobile phone. Among the increase in teens on the road is an increase in construction during Florida summers. Construction usually leads to shut down traffic lanes, detours, temporary signs, and other changes that may confuse drivers, especially if they are distracted while driving.

In addition to the extra drivers and expanded distractions, the summer months are notoriously hot in Florida. Hotter temperatures often lead to vehicle equipment failure. Many drivers cruise the roads in the summer months without knowing there is an issue with their tires or another important vehicle component. Faulty vehicle parts can easily cause collisions.

If you sustain an injury in a summer car accident, it's wise to visit a chiropractor. Chiropractic treatment can effectively treat sprains, strains, neck injuries, back injuries, and other injuries and get you back to your pre-accident condition in no-time.

"It is important for your first call to be to a health professional that can assist with your car accident injuries if they occur. At County Line Chiropractic Medical and Rehab Centers, our team is ready to service your injuries and lead you on a path to recovery," said Dr. Robert Hochstein, D.C.
