RESTON, Va., April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Clinical Care Options (CCO), a leader in the development of innovative interactive online, print, and live medical education for healthcare professionals, and the American College of Cardiology Foundation (ACCF) launched today an online conference coverage program from the ACC's 59th Annual Scientific Session (ACC.10) and i2 Summit, Innovation in Intervention in partnership with Cardiovascular Research Foundation, held March 14-16, 2010, in Atlanta, Georgia.

"We are excited about this new endeavor to deliver educational content in a unique and innovative format from ACC.10/i2 Summit to our members," said Joseph S. Green, PhD, ACC Chief Learning Officer. "Meeting attendees will benefit from a thorough review of select educational sessions, and cardiologists unable to attend this year will have unprecedented access to the important clinical data they would have otherwise missed."

ACCF's new CME-certified conference coverage from the Annual Scientific Session is designed to provide both cardiovascular care clinicians and primary care physicians with summaries of the most relevant abstracts and late-breaking science from ACC.10's General Cardiology Learning Pathway and i2 Summit. Capsule Summary modules review key oral presentations from the meeting. Panels of faculty experts then analyze and discuss the new data for clinical application in Expert Analyses modules. And finally, Expert Recaps, a multimedia activity that consists of downloadable slides and streaming audio narration by an expert in the field, summarize the key studies. "Clinicians around the world will be able to review and -- most importantly -- apply to their practice the latest clinical data presented and discussed by respected leaders in the field," said James B. McClurken, MD, FACC, ACC.10 Program Chair.

"We are honored to have been selected by the ACC to work with them to create a program that will fill a true educational gap and will have a direct impact on patient outcomes and care," said Jeffrey L. Drezner, MD, PhD, CEO of CCO.

The ACCF and CCO are partnering to combine the strengths of both organizations to bring key summaries of the meeting not only to the 20,000 attendees of ACC.10/i2 Summit but also to the thousands of clinicians unable to attend the meeting. CCO and ACC members will receive alerts and gain immediate access to the online conference coverage program beginning with the April 1 launch of Capsule Summaries.
