COVINA, Calif., Oct. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Citrus Valley Health Partners is 5-star rated for the Treatment of Heart Failure and Defibrillator Procedure outcomes according to a study released today by Healthgrades, the leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals.

Citrus Valley Health Partners has been a Five-Star Recipient of Heart Failure for three years in a row (2017-2019) and its Glendora hospital, Foothill Presbyterian, has achieved this prestigious recognition two consecutive years (2018-2019). What's more, CVHP is also a Five-Star Recipient for Defibrillator Procedures in 2019.

"These achievements represent our commitment to quality and our ongoing efforts to advance our cardiac program," said Rob Curry, President & CEO of Citrus Valley Health Partners. "We've made great strides this year and are proud to be the only health system in the San Gabriel Valley to perform both TAVR and MitraClip cardiac procedures."

Every year, Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance at almost 4,500 hospitals nationwide for 32 of the most common inpatient procedures and conditions, as well as tracking outcomes in appendectomy and bariatric surgery using all-payer data provided by 15 states and the District of Columbia.*

A 5-star rating indicates that CVHP's clinical outcomes are statistically significantly better than expected when treating the condition or performing the procedure being evaluated.

"Clinical quality varies significantly between hospitals, so it's important for consumers to use information about outcomes to assess where to receive care," said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Healthgrades. "This 5-star rating for Treatment of Heart Failure and Defibrillator Procedures showcases the expertise and commitment of Citrus Valley Health Partners to their patients."

CVHP is a non-profit health care system located in Los Angeles County, Calif. It is comprised of three hospitals: Foothill Presbyterian Hospital (FPH) in Glendora, Inter-Community Hospital (ICH) in Covina, Queen of the Valley Hospital (QVH) in West Covina, freestanding Citrus Valley Hospice in West Covina, as well as an outpatient surgery site, imaging facility and athletic rehabilitation center. CVHP is known regionally for its Citrus Valley Heart Program, Neuroscience Program/Certified Primary Stroke Center, robotic surgery program, accredited acute rehabilitation program and many ambulatory services. CVHP's family of over 3,500 employees and nearly 1,000 physicians are mission-driven to provide safe, compassionate care. To learn more, visit http://www.cvhp.org.
