The change to Emanate Health reflects the evolution of Citrus Valley Health Partners, which was founded 25 years ago. The merger and affiliation includes Foothill Presbyterian Hospital in Glendora, Inter-Community Hospital in Covina, Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina, Citrus Valley Hospice and Home Health in West Covina, as well as ambulatory clinics in the region. With more than 1,000 physicians and 3,500 staff, Emanate Health's specialty care services includes Behavioral Health, Cancer Care, Cardiovascular Care, Emergency Care, Neuroscience and Stroke Care, Orthopedics Care, Sports Medicine, and Women's Health.

"The word emanate means 'to come from a source.' For decades, we have been a source of health for our community. We are catalysts for change and a beacon for healthier lives. And our new name is a symbol of this positive energy, this source of light. It reinforces our dedication to the community and our passion for keeping them well. We are Emanate Health. We will Emanate Health," said Rob Curry, president and chief executive officer of Emanate Health.

To emanate also means "to originate" and "to radiate" in different languages. The new name holds steadfast to the organization's core values of respect, excellence, compassion, integrity and stewardship.

Creating a path for transformation In 2010, Emanate Health leadership made the bold decision to evolve its business strategy to transform the quality of health care it provides to the region. This started with establishing a fiscally responsible roadmap that has put the system in a position for positive growth. Through this planning, the system's bond rating has been upgraded with a stable outlook by Moody's to Baa1 and by Standard & Poor's to A, the two leading credit rating agencies.

Emanate Health is committed to recruiting top performing physicians, nurses, and staff to provide the best level of care to our patients. Emanate Health is proud of its success in selecting pre-eminently trained endovascular neurosurgeons, interventional cardiologists, world-recognized master robotic surgeons, total joint fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons and a group of emergency physicians ranked best in the nation.

"As part of the rebrand transformation, while it is important for us to have a unified health system name, we recognize our hospitals have a tremendously strong reputation in our communities. We want to communicate our brand identity and emphasize that we are one, integrated health care system, while also maintaining local equity in our hospitals," said Curry.

The new names will be: Emanate Health Foothill Presbyterian Hospital, Emanate Health Inter-Community Hospital, Emanate Health Queen of the Valley Hospital, Emanate Health Hospice and Emanate Health Home Care.

Expansion and modernization The next major project is to replace the 24-bed emergency department at Emanate Health Queen of the Valley Hospital with a 60-bed state of the art facility as well as a 24-bed intensive care unit.

In addition, two of the three emergency departments are newly constructed facilities with best of class technology and represent one of the largest emergency providers in the entire state of California.

Emanate Health is expanding its scope of services to include population health initiatives aimed at helping the community to improve chronic diseases such as congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, asthma, and hypertension. Ambulatory services are also being expanded to include outpatient diagnostic imaging and outpatient clinics.

Emanate Health also offers perinatal and Level 3 neonatal services to high-risk mothers and babies at the Family Birth & Newborn Center at Queen of the Valley Hospital.

While there is a transformation taking place system wide, the organization remains committed to its mission: Emanate Health exists to help people keep well in body, mind and spirit by providing quality health care services in a safe, compassionate environment.
