MIAMI, Feb. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In partnership with CitiHope, Panexus Haiti and Friends for Good Health, The Jack Brewer Foundation (JBF Worldwide) has sent a 40-foot-long container filled with millions of dollars' worth of medicine to Innovating Health International (IHI) in Haiti. IHI is a non-profit dedicated to treating chronic diseases and addressing women's health issues in developing countries. IHI is extremely active in Haiti and providing these medicines to the organization will save and improve countless lives.
"We will distribute the medications to our partners across the country, especially in the areas hit hard by Hurricane Matthew," says IHI's Dr. Vincent DeGennaro, Jr. "As the recovery efforts continue, the medications will treat thousands of people across the devastated areas."
Since 1990, CitiHope has procured, shipped, and distributed over $1 billion in medicine, medical supplies, nutritional and developmental resources to 40 countries across the world. IHI seeks to use multi-disciplinary teams to shape healthcare delivery, prevention, and education. IHI's team includes doctors, nurses, social workers, and community health workers, many of whom are former patients. JBF Worldwide secured funding for the shipment of medicines to reach Port-au-Prince with the help of Friends for Good Health. The partners have worked together on several humanitarian missions over the years.
Panexus Haiti will support the transport and coordination of medicine distributions in Haiti upon the retrieval from customs. CitiHope and JBF Worldwide will continue to work together to raise funds and medicine to support these organizations and countries in their attempt to rid their citizens of chronic diseases.
