ANAHEIM, Calif., April 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Children's Dental Group announces that its pediatric dental and orthodontics

clinic located at 2156 E. Lincoln Blvd., Anaheim, CA, will reopen for all patients on April 24, 2017.

Dr. Jerry Minsky, Chief Dental Officer, stated

that, "The health and wellbeing of our patients remain our top priorities.  As always, we will provide them with high quality care in a comfortable, safe, child-friendly environment, and do all that we can to ensure their wellness.

"We are pleased that we have met all of the conditions of the Orange County Health Care Agency's (OCHCA) December 2016 order, and that we may operate again in an exceptionally safe, child-friendly environment where high quality care, patient satisfaction, and safety are at the forefront of our mission.  Thank you to all of the families who have worked closely with us to preserve and protect their children's health as a result of mycobacteria infections experienced by some children who had pulpotomies at the clinic during 2016, which we deeply regret."

The OCHCA order sought certifications from one or more of the State Dental Board, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other organizations and experts regarding: removal of all sources of bacteria potentially posing risk; compliance with the State Dental Board's accepted standards of practice; and the absence of bacterial levels that pose any risk.  After the order was issued, we underwent several evaluations, analyses, audits, and tests relating to the water systems, clinical care, and infection control and sterilization processes and procedures.

"We are grateful for the time, effort, work and thought invested by the OCHCA, the State Dental Board, the CDC, and the others over these past months in performing all of the evaluations, audits, tests, and analyses of our practices and processes," Dr. Minsky stated.  "Consistent with our deep commitment to our patients, these efforts demonstrated that our clinical work and processes did not show significant deviations from professional standards of care and practice or regulatory requirements," he added.

With the benefit of guidance from scientists, clinicians and experts, we have put into place extraordinary infection control, sterilization, and safety practices — well beyond those required by dental industry standards.  Dr. Minsky said, "We are pleased to do this in the interest of patient welfare, and we are confident that patients will be well protected by the extraordinary water safety systems, infection control and sterilization practices that have been adopted.  Families can take comfort in the knowledge that the quality of care and safety practices at our clinic offer high levels of protection for our patients."
