Praise for "The Plasma":
"'The Plasma' is a powerful medical drama that plays out in the arena of personal experience, special interests, and business motivations alike. It poses many thought-provoking moments especially recommended for readers who enjoy stories of moral and ethical challenges in the medical world. Action is spiced with a fast-paced race to a conclusion which ends with a satisfying bang of social and political surprise." - Diane Donovan, MidWest Book Review
"'The Plasma' is a gripping novel that artfully manages to combine the medical drama, the immigrant narrative, and the crime thriller into a single, riveting tale of hope, betrayal, and darkness that challenges all expectations and delivers something wholly new. The author, Dr. Kamalendu Malaker, draws expertly from both his knowledge of oncology and genre literature, texturing the medical world of the novel with authentic, professional specificity and the aesthetic trimmings of the hardboiled and the gothic. What's more, the added component of the immigration narrative and the revelation of the dark underbelly of the American Dream places 'The Plasma' in an arrestingly political framework, heightening the drama through its social foregrounding. A truly unique and captivating novel." - Charles Asher, reviewer
