COLLEGE STATION, Texas, Nov. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- CapRock Health, the Brazos Valley's only Independent and 100% locally owned Health System has announced the opening of its first urgent care facility in the Century Square Development in College Station, Texas on 11/16/2018.

CapRock Health was founded in 2014 by Dr. Andy Wilson and Dr. Lon Young and operates micro-hospital and freestanding ER locations based in College Station, Texas. CapRock Health has grown from less than 10 employees and one freestanding ER location in early 2015, to over 100 employees and 3 locations within the Brazos Valley to include a fully accredited and licensed general acute care hospital, 2 emergency rooms, outpatient imaging, outpatient laboratory, an urgent care, and second urgent care location to be announced within the next month.
Dr. Wilson felt the need for an extension of CapRock Health's acute care service line to include urgent care, "To get it right in healthcare, it is critical that we provide the right care, at the right time, and in the right location for our patients." Dr. Wilson continued, "Healthcare is evolving rapidly, and CapRock and the patients we serve are looking for integrative and innovative care delivery models that meet the patients where they want to consume care and in the manner preferred by the patient."
Dr. Wilson explained that CapRock Health's patients seek care in their facilities for the well-known expertise and clinical excellence of CapRock Health, paired with the dignified environments and internal operational policies that provide care in a manner that is respectful of each patient's comfort and time. Dr. Wilson explained further that over the years CapRock Health received an overwhelming number of requests to expand into other areas of healthcare beyond ER and Hospital Care, "We were bombarded as a company by requests from our patients and employers in the region to expand our services to provide the 'CapRock Experience' in other areas of acute medical care", Dr. Wilson continued, "After understanding the needs of our patients and employers in the region, we have responded, and are actively investigating truly innovative ways to more efficiently and effectively open additional integrated acute care service lines in this region and beyond".
The CapRock Health Urgent Care will provide all of the typical services of an urgent care and will be open 12 hours a day to serve the patients of the Brazos Valley. CapRock Health shared that while this is their first urgent care in the region, it will not be the last.
