HALIFAX, N.S., Aug. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Canada Drug Rehab (CDR), a top resource of Canadian drug rehab and alcohol treatment programs, is proud to announce a new resource post on Nova Scotia government-funded drug rehab and alcohol treatment programs. Each month, the CDR website focuses on a Canadian province, so that in addition to coverage of the more populated provinces such as British Columbia or Alberta, it also covers the less populated provinces such as Nova Scotia.

"Heavy drug and alcohol use is a problem wherever it occurs, in large or small population centers," explained Casey Jordan, Chief Marketing Officer. "We're proud of this month's focus on Nova Scotia drug rehab and alcohol treatment resources in addition to our pages on Alberta and British Columbia."

To view the new content on Nova Scotia drug rehab and alcohol treatment programs, visit https://www.canadadrugrehab.ca/blog/general-category/nova-scotia-government-funded-drug-rehab/. The post points out that, "Nova Scotia only has approximately 2 government funded inpatient treatment programs. Unfortunately, these government-funded drug rehabs are usually only 21 days, and this often includes the time it takes to detox. This is not considered nearly long enough to have an impactful change on clients. While there are a few community-based addiction services, the bulk of resources are located in or close to Halifax, creating a disparity in access to services."

It goes on to explain that, "It is commendable that Nova Scotia has created opioid replacement programs to help wean people off. However, there seems to be more funding going towards medication than counseling and other treatment options. Nova Scotia government-funded drug rehab and alcohol treatment is lacking, especially in regards to inpatient facilities. New facilities with the capabilities to treat people for longer periods of time would help reduce the current lengthy wait times and hopefully help clients be more successful upon leaving treatment."

Interested persons are also pointed to resource pages for Nova Scotia (https://www.canadadrugrehab.ca/nova-scotia/) as well as Alberta (https://www.canadadrugrehab.ca/alberta/) and British Columbia (https://www.canadadrugrehab.ca/british-columbia/). Any person looking for immediate assistance is urged to visit the website and call the toll-free help line for a confidential consultation.
