MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., March 16 Frost & Sullivan today announced that Cambridge Consultants, a leading technology product design and development firm, will host a key session at the 15th Annual Medical Devices, 2010: A Frost & Sullivan Executive MindXchange. The interactive breakout session, hosted by Cambridge Consultants, titled, Where are the Growth Opportunities? Finding Unmet Needs and Underserved Markets, will take place on Tuesday, March 16th at 11:15 AM at the Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco.

The breakout session will serve as a case history, showing attendees how to identify real clinical problems that would benefit from an unconventional solution. Using the project collaboration between Cambridge Consultants and EBR Systems Inc. as an example, the session will focus on how sophisticated technology applications can be advanced beyond in-house capabilities in partnership with medical product design firms to solve the myriad product development issues that need to be overcome.

"Advanced medical products often fail because when they finally enter trials, no clinical benefits are found. In many clinical cases, the existing technology appears to be bound by traditional practice which ultimately channels solutions into merely incremental improvement," said John Genova, Global Medical Device Consulting of Cambridge Consultants. "When conventional paths don't provide answers to this dilemma, we must seek technologies which challenge assumptions and make them work."

The breakout session will feature a discussion led by the Head of Global Medtech for Cambridge Consultants and the Chief Executive Officer of EBR Systems Inc., with a large portion of time devoted to audience participation.
