"We support U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Sebelius' request that all Americans get vaccinated to help prevent or lessen a third wave of the H1N1 flu in the coming weeks," said Troyen A. Brennan, M.D., Chief Medical Officer, CVS Caremark. "There still is a great danger that many Americans will suffer severe illness related to both the H1N1 and seasonal flu as we move into 2010, and the best way to protect yourself is to get vaccinated. By making shots available on demand at our convenient retail locations, we hope to keep consumers healthy in the thousands of communities we serve."

Currently, H1N1 vaccine is being offered at select CVS/pharmacy locations in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, Texas and the District of Columbia and at MinuteClinic locations in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.

In addition to H1N1 vaccine, seasonal influenza vaccine has been restocked and is also available at all CVS MinuteClinic locations. The 2009 H1N1 flu virus is not the same as previous or current human seasonal influenza viruses and separate vaccinations for each are needed for patients to be protected. Patients are able to get both vaccinations in a single visit at MinuteClinic.

Vaccine supply at all MinuteClinic locations is updated daily at www.minuteclinic.com and for CVS/pharmacy at www.cvs.com/flu. Due to high demand, both H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccine availability cannot be guaranteed at time of visit.
