CHS Foundation Helps Launch New Scholarship Fund

ST PAUL, Minn., Aug. 13 The CHS Foundationannounced today that it has provided initial funding to launch the Ralph K.Morris Foundation's new Elroy Webster Cooperative Studies Fund, a programwhich provides a scholarship and honorary award to graduate and law studentsinterested in agriculture and cooperatives.

The scholarship program was created in memory of Elroy Webster, aMinnesota farmer and CHS leader who helped drive historic joint ventures andmergers of U.S. agricultural cooperatives. Webster established thewell-respected CHS New Leader Program for farmers and ranchers, created agrant-based funding program for cooperative, agricultural and ruraldevelopment projects through the CHS Foundation; and was actively involved ina wide range of organizations including FFA, Agriculture Future of America,the Ralph K. Morris Scholarship Foundation and the Agriculture Council ofAmerica.

"Elroy Webster was one of the most influential figures in agriculture andcooperatives in the last half century," said William Nelson, president, CHSFoundation. "We're proud to help launch this new scholarship program in memoryof Elroy's dedication and leadership to CHS and commitment to the future ofagriculture and cooperatives."

The Elroy Webster Cooperative Studies Fund will help cover costsassociated with tuition, fees, books, supplies or equipment for graduate orlaw students enrolled in agricultural or cooperative classes or those whodemonstrate a high level of interest in these fields. Application forms andadditional details can be found on the Ralph K. Morris Foundation website(http://www.ralphkmorrisfoundation.org). Applications are due Sept. 15 andwill be announced Oct. 15, 2008.
