The United States received a record 71.9 million pounds for the week ending January 13, 2019; [i] January imports of Mexican avocados are projected to reach 217 million pounds, up 16 percent from last year during the same period.[ii]
Big Game Sunday is the biggest day for avocado consumption in America, according to Avocados From Mexico, and guacamole is one of the most popular foods served at game-day parties.
