Runners across the U.S. have several opportunities to register as a member of ZERO's DASH FOR DAD Endurance Team in order to compete in these national racing events:

  • Bank of America Chicago Marathon -- October 10
  • Marine Corps Marathon (Washington, D.C.) -- October 24
  • ING New York City Marathon -- November 7
Slots for these teams fill up quickly -- so please sign up soon by contacting Tracy Amish at 202-303-3111, or visit ZERO's website at www.ZeroCancer.org.  (ZERO's team is already complete for the sold-out Nautica New York City Triathlon in July.)

After you register, ZERO provides you with your own donation website and list-serv in order to secure pledges from family and friends, useful fundraising advice and support, and other effective tools to make your participation in these races both memorable and successful.

Every dollar raised goes toward free prostate cancer testing for men across the U.S.

In addition to these races, the DASH FOR DAD/Great Prostate Cancer Challenge national race series (5K and 10Ks) will be held in 11 cities this fall:

  • Baltimore, MD
  • Buffalo, NY
  • Columbus, OH
  • Harrisburg, PA
  • Indianapolis, IN
  • Kansas City, MO
  • Long Island, NY
  • Memphis, TN
  • Nashville, TN
  • Orlando, FL
  • Washington, DC metro area (Alexandria, VA)
DASH FOR DAD/Great Prostate Cancer Challenge is increasingly recognized as the premier prostate cancer race series in the U.S. Each race represents a heartfelt, tight-knit community event that brings together athletes, cancer survivors, physicians, caregivers, family members and friends alike.

Since the race series began in 2008, more than $1 million has been raised to promote prostate cancer awareness, early detection and research.  Runners create teams and collect monetary pledges from family and friends, and the money raised is used for prostate cancer services in their communities.

"DASH FOR DAD/Great Prostate Cancer Challenge elevates prostate cancer awareness to a broader nationwide level, and everyone is encouraged to participate in these fun events," said ZERO's CEO Skip Lockwood.  "We all know someone who is impacted by this most commonly diagnosed cancer among men, striking one in every six. That's why we must do all that we can to put an end to this horrible disease."
