ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Feb. 22 Baxa Corporation, a leading provider of medical devices and systems that automate pharmacy operations and increase patient safety, today announced that Baxa Director of International Sales, Phil Walsh, is one of four finalists for "Sales Director of the Year" in the 2010 Stevie® Awards for Sales & Customer Service. This premier awards program recognizes outstanding accomplishments of sales and customer service professionals around the world.

Under Walsh's leadership during the challenging economic climate of 2009, the Baxa International Sales team recorded its highest sales figures in more than thirty years of business and a 30% increase over 2008. International sales specifically increased by 40% during the first half of 2009 over international sales recorded in 2008.

Critical to this success was Walsh's leadership in taking Baxa into new geographies including the company's first partnership in the growing Chinese market. In his first year as International Sales Director, Walsh spearheaded a four-year exclusive distribution agreement to bring Baxa products to more than 250 hospital pharmacies in the People's Republic of China.
