The Arisure Closed System Transfer Device was designed to provide the easiest workflow on the market for drug preparation and to protect healthcare professionals from exposure to harmful vapors when compounding, transporting, and delivering drugs. The Arisure CSTD is needle-free and mechanically and microbiologically closed to prevent contaminants from escaping or entering the system.
Yukon Medical launched the Arisure system in early 2018 and the system is already gaining traction in several countries around the world, particularly in the United States. Yukon Medical engaged the assistance of their partners in the development and commercialization of the Arisure CSTD. EG-GILERO is a contract product development company based in nearby Morrisville, NC and Industrie Borla (Borla), a medical device manufacturer based near Torino, Italy. Both EG-GILERO and Borla were instrumental in the development and commercialization of the Arisure CSTD.

The 2019 MDEA Juror Panel selected 46 exceptional finalists in nine medical technology product categories. Products were judged based on design and engineering innovation; function and user-related innovation; patient benefits; business benefits; and overall benefit to the healthcare system. Unlike other design competitions that are merely styling contests, the MDEA jury is comprised of a balance of practicing doctors, nurses, and technicians alongside industrial designers, engineers, manufacturers, and human factors experts.
