During his visit, Dr. Burnette will speak at the Lab Design Seminar taking place January 19th - 20th at Biopolis, the biomedical R&D hub at one-north, a 200 hectare vibrant hotspot for R&D innovation and test-bedding. Organized by JTC Corporation, the master developer for one-north, the inaugural seminar, a first for Singapore, will be the ideal networking forum for international thought leaders, scientists, developers and other professionals to come together to exchange invaluable insights and experiences on specialty lab design.

"Biopolis has seeded the Biomedical research industry in Singapore and garnered international attention," said Philip Su, Assistant Chief Executive Officer, JTC Corporation. "We are privileged to have Dr. Burnette speak at this event, which will encourage greater sharing between design professionals from all over the world, and break boundaries between different international practices."

On January 20th at 4:15pm, Dr. Burnette will deliver a presentation titled "Working Toward Accreditation Standards". The speech will highlight the significant need for international accreditation standards for high-containment biomedical labs, and will discuss the major similarities and differences of efforts underway in Europe, Canada, the U.S. and other countries to develop benchmarks for design and operational standards of excellence.

"JTC Corporation has created a tremendous forum for international leaders to convene, share ideas and best practices," stated Burnette. "With increased awareness of the need for accreditation standards we will continue to progress toward developing such a platform."
