Accordia Health recognizes National Health Center Week with an Open House and Community Health Fair

Accordia Health is among the community health centers nationwide providing high quality, cost-effective, and accessible primary and preventative care to all, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.

BAYOU LA BATRE, Ala., Aug. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Dozens of people attended Accordia Health's Inaugural Open House

& Community Health Fair in celebration of National Health Center Week on Aug. 5. Attendees took advantage of free health screenings, office tours, and visited with the community vendors participating in the event.

Accordia Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center look-a-like located in Bayou La Batre. It is the primary care division of AltaPointe Health, Alabama's most comprehensive health and human services organization headquartered in Mobile. Accordia's mission is to provide quality-driven, patient-centered care in a convenient, cost-effective, and accessible manner while maintaining the highest safety standards.

"We want to be the provider of choice for the people of Bayou La Batre and the surrounding communities," Missy Kaiser, executive director Accordia Health, said. "Hosting an open house is our way of making sure residents knows the services available to them, and their family."

Accordia Health is improving AltaPointe's transition to fully integrated primary and behavioral healthcare by offering primary and behavioral healthcare under one roof.

"Accordia Health provides whole-person health care through a clinical care team that includes physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, medical assistants, behavioral health specialist, care coordinators, and a community health worker," said Tuerk Schlesinger, AltaPointe and Accordia Health CEO.

Bayou La Batre Mayor Terry Downey, on behalf of the city, and council declared Aug. 4 – 10 as National Health Center Week in the coastal town. Mayor Downey expressed his gratitude for Accordia's service to the community.
