A Mumbai girl, Yashvy Savani has started a crowdfunding page on Milaap, India's largest crowdfunding website to help Zeenath Khan, 38-year-old graduate and a mother of two children from Aurangabad who weighs 148 kgs. The doctor has diagnosed her with morbid obesity and she is developing health complications like acidity, blood pressure and severe back pain because of her weight.

Her family has had a history of obesity and Zeenath's weight shot up during her pregnancy. She developed hypertension and insomnia. She even lost her job as a teacher because she was unable to stand in the class and take lessons. Now, on most days, Zeenath remains at home, unable to move much.

In the last four years, a healthy controlled diet did nothing to slow down her weight gain. She went to Mumbai looking for treatment and the doctors recommended that Zeenath undergoes a bariatric surgery that will remove fat from her body. After her surgery, her weight will reduce by 70-80 kgs in a year which should help her get her body weight under control.

The operation is slated to cost over Rs. 3 lakhs which she cannot afford. In addition, her husband is a tailor by profession and earns a monthly salary of Rs. 3000 and cannot save up for the surgery. Because she did not have a job, she has not been able to save much for the past few years. She met local politicians in the hope of getting some help, but has not received any aid so far.

"My daughters ask me when I will lose weight because they know I've been trying for the last few years. It is very embarrassing and one reason why I want to become healthy is so I can spend more time with them," says Zeenath Khan.

Being overweight has also prevented her from doing everyday things like moving around comfortably and spending time with her children. Zeenath gets breathless when she takes up the smallest activity and the surgery is her only hope of recovering a normal life.

Zeenath has created a Facebook page asking for help. A Mumbai girl, Yashvy Savani has set up a campaign on Milaap, India's largest crowdfunding website.
