abnormalities, hypoglycemia, markedly altered mental status, prolonged seizures, or focal neurologic deficit.
F. Hospitalization is mandatory in all cases of Meningitis as they are to be monitored for hemodynamic stability, neurologic status, urine
output, electrolytes, glucose, and calcium.
G. Initial antibiotic therapy: The choice of the antibiotic initially is based on the probable organism as suspected by clinical features or as per the common organism for the age.Refer Table 1 &

H. Dexamethasone at the dose of .15mg/kg/dose should be administered with or prior to antibiotics to reduce the risk of sensorineural deafness.
