Nursing the child in a cool environment
Switching on the fan or the air-conditioner.
Remove tight or excessive clothing or cover.
Tepid sponging with luke warm water (Use of cold water or ice promotes vasoconstriction and does not allow the heat to dissipate, hence avoided).
