Travel Immunization

•  ¾ Apart from routine childhood immunization, vaccines for diseases prevalent in the country of destination may be required.


•  ¾ International certificate required only for yellow fever.

•  ¾ While choosing vaccines, assess the disease risk.

•  ¾ Apart from vaccines advice, stress on use of hygienic water and foods, environmental hazards, and prophylaxis against malaria.

•  ¾ For sub-Saharan countries, meningococcal vaccine and polio booster also recommended.
