Definition

Malaria is one of the most important diseases that developing countries face. Annually, 300-500 million people suffer from malaria and several million die of which most are children under five. It has been calculated from epidemiological studies that 200-300 children die from malaria each hour despite worldwide control strategies.


Malaria is a protozoal disease the genus Plasmodium and has an acute and chronic clinical spectra. Four species cause human disease. P. falciparum, P. vivax, P. malariae, and P. ovale. The protozoa are transmitted to humans by female mosquitoes of the genus Anopheles. Transmission may also occur by direct inoculation of infected red blood cells via blood transfusion, needles, or congenitally. Most serious and fatal complications are caused by P. falciparum.

Hello, nice to read, this is interesting.
How do people like me get the cure for complicated or chronic malaria? Im from Africa live the USA. They are not able to diagnose the disease here but when i went back home i was tested positive. I was prescribed artesunate but it didn't work. Usually my family sent some drugs
for the malaria treatment but im still suffering from the illness.
