3. Stevens Johnson syndrome
This represents severe type of Erythema multiforme with oral mucosal and genital lesions associated with severe constitutional symptoms. The commonly offending agents are sulfonamides, dapsone, thiacetazone, isoniazid, oxyphenbutazone and phenyl-butazone.

The patients should be hospitalized and intravenous steroid therapy should be initiated along with intravenous fluids. Care of eyes by competent ophthalmologist should be done.

Exfoliative dermatitis includes also Seborrhea for which a steroid i.e. Betamethasone Valerate 0.2% is prescribed. However a good scrubbing with bath salts, like skin-friendly Epsom Salt (Magnesium Sulphate) after a shower, will have the same temporary effect, without the nasty side-effects of Steroids. On the scalp Alcohol will prevent excessive dandruff for a day or so.
