Side effect(s) of Memantine

Read the side effects of Memantine as described in the medical literature. In case of any doubt consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Central Nervous System- Sleepiness, dizziness, confusion and headache.

Respiratory- Shortness of breath.

Gastrointestinal- Constipation and vomiting.

Miscellaneous- Hallucinations (seeing things or hearing voices that do not exist) and extreme tiredness.

Other Precautions : *Monitor urine pH regularly.

Memantine(Namenda) generic is an N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA)-receptor antagonist, recommended for Alzheimer's disease. It reduces abnormal activity in the brain, improve the thinking ability and help perform daily activities more easily.
