How to Take Trandolapril and it's Dose


It comes as a tablet to take by mouth (orally), once or twice a day with or with out food.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

PO- Hypertension- Adult: Initially, 0.5 mg once daily. First dose preferably given at bedtime. Maintenance: 1-2 mg once daily. Max: 4 mg daily in 1-2 divided doses.
In patients with co-existing heart failure, start treatment under close medical supervision.
PO- Heart failure after a heart attack- Adult: Initially, 0.5 mg once daily, may increase dose gradually to a target dose of 4 mg once daily. Patient may continue at the max tolerated dose if patient is unable to tolerate 4 mg/day dose.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Hypersensitivity, last 6 months of pregnancy.
It should not be co-administered with antidiabetic medicines.
