It comes as a tablet and capsule to take by mouth, once a day before breakfast.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

Hypothyroidism - Adults- PO- The recommended dose is 30 mg/day initially, increasing by 15 mg increments every 2 to 3 week.
Maintenance- The recommended dose is 60 to 120 mg/day.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients with adrenal cortical insufficiency, untreated thyrotoxicosis and hypersensitivity.

Drug Name : Thyroid -dessicated

This medication is a dried and powdered form of thyroid hormone, prescribed for hypothyroidism, TSH suppression (in thyroid cancer, nodules, goiters, and enlargement in chronic thyroiditis).
