How to Take Sodium- Potassium- Magnesium Sulfate and it's Dose


• Sodium- Potassium- Magnesium Sulfate comes as a liquid which has to be taken by mouth.
• The liquid has to be mixed or diluted with water to avoid the unpleasant taste.
• Do not take solid foods but drinking clear liquids is advised.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

Start the evening before colonoscopy: Dilute 1 bottle to 16oz with water and drink entire amount. Drink 32oz of water over the next hour. Next morning: repeat using the second bottle. Complete prep at least 1 hour before colonoscopy.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients with abnormal blood electrolyte levels, and hypersensitivity.
