Dosage & When it is to be taken
SC- The recommended dose is 200 mg once weekly.
When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)
Contraindicated in patients with moderate or severe liver impairment, and known hypersensitivity.
Why it is prescribed (Indications)
This medication is a cholesterol-reducing agent (oligonucleotide inhibitor- an orphan drug), prescribed for hypercholesterolemia.
Warnings and Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with history of kidney or liver problems, alcoholism, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Monitor blood cholesterol level regularly while taking this medication.
Store it in a refrigerator (2°C to 8°C).
