It comes as a syrup to take by mouth, on an empty stomach.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

Adult: PO- As elemental Fe: Treatment: 60mg 2-4 times/day. Prevention: 60 mg/day.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients with haemolytic anemia, haemochromatosis (a genetic disorder).
