• The tablet should be kept in the mouth in contact with the mucosa, from where it is absorbed.
• Fetal distress
• Excess uterine distention
• Unfavorable presentation of the fetus
• Obstructed labor
• More than four previous births or previous surgery on the uterus, or other conditions that could increase the risk of uterine rupture
• Elderly women
• Severe toxemia of pregnancy
• Amniotic fluid embolism
• Placenta previa, where the placenta is attached to a lower than normal position in the uterus
Dosage & When it is to be taken
• The recommended dosage for desaminooxytocin is 25 to 50 units buccal tablet every 30 minutes or as necessary.When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)
