When and How to Take Hydrocodone
- Hydrocodone is available in the form of an extended-release capsule and tablet to be taken orally.
- The extended-release capsule is usually taken once every 12 hours. The extended-release tablet is usually taken once daily.
- Swallow the extended-release capsules and tablets with plenty of water, one at a time.
- Take the medication at the same time every day for better results.
- Follow the directions exactly as given on the prescription label.
- Do not exceed or skip a dose. If you miss it, take the medication as soon as it is remembered.
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
