PO- The recommended dose range is 2.5 – 200mg/day.
Metabolic : Electrolyte disturbances, dehydration, dry mouth, increased sugar, increased urination, elevated liver enzyme and loss of appetite.
Central Nervous System : Headache, dizziness, weakness, drowsiness and confusion.
Miscellaneous : Stomach cramps, impotence, ringing in the ear and hearing loss.
It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with or without food.
Contraindicated in patients with anuria (absence of urination), and hypersensitivity.
Caution should be exercised in patients with history of diabetes, gout, kidney or liver disease, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
