Stavudine(Zerit) generic Stavir (40 mg) is a nucleoside analog reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NARTI), prescribed for HIV/AIDS. It blocks the growth of HIV.

Adult: PO – The recommended dose is 30 mg for people who have less than 60kg body weight. Greater than 60 kg/BW: 40 mg two times per day.

Hypersensitivity.

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of liver or kidney disease, sugar, elderly, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

• Monitor patients for development of peripheral neuropathy.

• Redistribution/accumulation of body fat including central obesity may occur.

Avoid excess dosage.
