Side effects of Glaxenna

  Heart: Palpitations.

  Central Nervous System: Dizziness and fainting.

  Gastrointestinal: Excessive bowel activity, abdominal bloating, flatulence and abdominal cramping.

  Miscellaneous: Sweating and weakness.

Dosage & When it is to be taken (Indications)

Adults – Oral: 2 tablets, 1 tsp of granules or 10 to 15 mL of syrup, usually at bedtime.
Child: 1 tablet or ½ tsp granules PO or ½ suppository PR . Liquid dose ranges from 1.25 to 15 mL depending on age and product formulation, at bed time.

How to use Glaxenna?

It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, on an empty stomach.

When is Glaxenna not to be taken? (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients with nausea, vomiting or other symptoms of appendicitis, acute surgical abdomen, fecal impaction, intestinal obstruction and undiagnosed abdominal pain.

Warnings and Precautions for Glaxenna

Avoid long-term use of this medication; prolonged use may lead to electrolyte imbalance.

• Caution should be exercised in patients with history of heart disease, crohn’s disease, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

• It should be administered in children only when recommended by a healthcare professional.
