â€¢ Most Common :
Dizziness, sedation, nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, skin rashes, lightheadedness, headache, weakness, emotional state, hallucinations and minor visual disturbances.
â€¢ Heart : Abnormal heart rhythm, slow/fast heart rate, heart/respiratory arrest, heart failure, heart attack and low blood pressure.
â€¢ Eye : Eye swelling and blurred vision.
â€¢ General : Drug interaction, drug tolerance and drug withdrawal syndrome.
â€¢ Gastrointestinal : Gastrointestinal bleeding and inflammation of pancreas.
â€¢ Liver : Liver enlargement.
â€¢ Immune system : Hypersensitivity.
â€¢ Metabolic : Acidity.
â€¢ Central Nervous system : Incoordination, coma, dizziness, drowsiness and fainting.
â€¢ Psychiatric : Abnormal behavior, confusional state and status change.
â€¢ Respiratory : Respiratory depression and difficulty in breathing.
â€¢ Skin : Rash and itching.
Adult: PO- As HCI: 65 mg 3-4 times/day. As napsilate: 100 mg 3-4 times/day.
It comes as a tablet and capsule to take by mouth, with or without food.
Contraindicated in patients with significant respiratory depression, paralytic ileus and hypersensitivity.
â€¢ Caution should be exercised in patients with history of liver or kidney disease, alcoholism, any allergy, who are taking other medications, any allergy, elderly, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
â€¢ It may cause drowsiness or dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
â€¢ Avoid alcoholic beverages.
â€¢ It should not be used in children less than 12 years.
Avoid excess dosage.
Store it at controlled room temperature (5-30Â°C).
