Capsule- Adults: 150 mg 2 times per day. The dose may be increased to 150 mg 3 times or 300 mg 2 times per day.
Tablet- Adults: 100 to 300 mg in divided doses.
IV/IM- 1 to 4 mL is repeated every 3 hours.
Gastrointestinal :
Nausea, abdominal distress, loss of appetite, constipation and diarrhea.
Central Nervous System :
Uneasiness, drowsiness, unsteadiness, sweating and headache.
Miscellaneous :
Skin rash, flushing of face, increase in heart rate and depth of respiration, slight increase in blood pressure and excessive sedation.
It comes as a tablet and capsule to take by mouth, with or without food. It also comes as a solution for injection to be administered by a healthcare provider into the vein or muscle.
It should not be given in large doses and contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity.
Caution should be exercised in patients with history of increased eye pressure, liver or heart problems, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
It may cause drowsiness or dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
Avoid alcohol consumption.
Avoid excess dosage.
Store it at room temperature (20° to 25°C) and in an airtight container. Keep away from children.
