Preoperative- Adult- IM - The recommended dose is 0.07 to 0.08 mg/kg administered up to 1 hour before surgery.
IV- Initial: 1 to 2.5 mg given 5-10 minutes before procedure. Repeat after at least 2 mins if needed.
Serious effects :
Decreased tidal volume and respiration rate.
Gastrointestinal :
Nausea, increased appetite and vomiting.
Central nervous System :
Reduced alertness, confusion, emotion, hallucinations, fatigue, dizziness, incorodination, post-operative sedation and memory loss.
Miscellaneous :
Jaundice, irregular heartbeat, shock, headache and cough.
It comes as a solution for injection to be administered by a healthcare provider into the vein or large muscle.
Contraindicated in patients with increased eye pressure, alcohol intoxication, who are taking protease inhibiter, and hypersensitivity.
Caution should be exercised in patients with history of breathing problem (COPD); increased eye pressure, heart, liver, or kidney problems, porphyria, severe depression, drug dependence, alcoholism, any allergy, who are taking other medications, elderly, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
It may cause drowsiness or dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
Avoid alcohol consumption.
Avoid excess dosage.
Store it at room temperature (25°C).
