It is prescribed for -

⇨ Indigestion

⇨ Ulcerative Colitis

What should be the dose and frequency?

PO - Up to 1 g/day usually given with an Al-containing antacid.
Osmotic laxative 2.4-4.8 g/day in single or divided doses.

What are the common side effects of Maylox Tab

GI irritation, diarrhea, abdominal cramps and paralytic ileus.

How to use Maylox Tab?

It comes as a tablet and liquid to take by mouth, with or without food.

In which conditions should Maylox Tab be avoided?

Hypersensitivity.

What are the Precautions needed with Maylox Tab

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of appendicitis, stomach pain, intestinal blockage, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, kidney problems, rectal bleeding, recent bowel surgery, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

After administration, this medication usually causes bowel movement within 30 minutes to 6 hours, if it is not happening consult with your doctor.
