PO - Up to 1 g/day usually given with an Al-containing antacid.
Osmotic laxative 2.4-4.8 g/day in single or divided doses.

Side effects of Maglicain

GI irritation, diarrhea, abdominal cramps and paralytic ileus.

It comes as a tablet and liquid to take by mouth, with or without food.
