Iron Sucrose(Venofer) generic Irozorb INJ is a mineral iron, prescribed for iron deficiency anemia especially for kidney failure patients. It replenishes body iron stores in patients with iron deficiency.

• Ear :
Ear pain.
• Eye :
Eye inflammation.
• Gastrointestinal :
Abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, sensory loss, nausea and vomiting.
• General :
Weakness, chest pain, swelling in the leg, fatigue, injection site burning/ pain and fever.
• Infections :
Injection site infection, respiratory tract infection and urinary tract infection.
• Metabolic :
Excess fluid, gout and increase/decrease in blood sugar.
• Musculoskeletal :
Tissue disorders, joint pain/inflammation, back pain and muscle cramp/pain.
• Central Nervous System :
Dizziness, headache and decreased sensitivity.
• Respiratory :
Increased cough, difficulty in breathing, nose congestion and inflammation of pharynx, nose.
• Skin :
Itching and rash.
• Heart :
High/low blood pressure.
IV- The recommended dose is 1000 mg over 2 to 5 minutes infusion, in divided doses within 2 weeks time.
It comes as a solution for injection to be administered by a healthcare provider into the vein.
Contraindicated in patients with excess iron in the body, other than iron deficiency anemia (eg-Vitamin deficiency anemia, megaloblastic anemia) and hypersensitivity.
• It should not be administered via intradermal, subcutaneous and intra muscular routes.

It may cause dizziness, lightheadedness or fainting, do not drive a car, operate machinery while taking this medication.
•
Do not use in children.
•
Caution needed in elderly patients and pregnant women.
Avoid excess dosage.
Store it at controlled room temperature (59° to 86°F). Protect from freezing.
