IV/IM- The recommended dose is 1.5 to 2 mg/kg loading dose, followed by 1 to 1.7 mg/kg every 8 hours or 5 to 7 mg/kg every 24 hours.

It comes as a solution for injection to be administered by a healthcare provider into the vein.

Contraindicated in patients with severe liver disease and hypersensitivity.

Caution needed in pregnant and breastfeeding women.
