GI discomfort, heart burn, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea. Stool darkening or bloody stool may occur.
Iron Deficiency Anemia, Chronic Renal Failure, And Pregnancy/Lactation-Oral: Adult: Each tab contains ferrous fumurate 325 mg and folic acid 0.35 mg.
Premature neonates: 2 to 4 mg elemental iron/kg/day divided every 12 to 24 hours (maximum daily dose = 15 mg).
Infants and children <12 years: Prophylaxis: 1 to 2 mg elemental iron/kg/day (maximum 15 mg) in 1 to 2 divided doses.
It comes as a tablet to take by mouth with or without food.
Contraindicated in patients who have experienced with paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (hemoglobin in the urine, especially observed in the morning as dark colored urine), accumulation of iron, and excess iron in the body.
â€¢ Avoid use in patients with active peptic ulcer, repeated blood transfusion, regional enteritis and intestinal ulcer.
â€¢Caution needed in patients with folic acid-dependent tumors.
â€¢ Do not take this medication for more than 6 months without checking with your doctor.
Avoid large dose of vitamins while taking this medication.
Oral: Store at (25Ã‚Â°C). Store it at room temperature and in airtight container.
