    Medical condition(s) for which Carbozin-F may be prescribed


    Dosage & When it is to be taken (Indications)

    Adult: 50 mg orally three times a day.
    Child: 2 to 4 mg/kg/day divided every 12 to 24 hours (maximum daily dose = 15 mg).
    Infants: 1 to 2 mg/kg/day (maximum 15 mg) in 1 to 2 divided doses.

    Side effects of Carbozin-F

    Local: Pain at injection site, pigmentation of skin, sterile abscess.

    Systemic: Fever, headache, joint pains, chest pain, flushing, palpitation, difficulty in breathing, anaphylactic reactions, lymph node enlargement.

    Miscellaneous : Stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, black or darker than normal appearing stools.

    How to use Carbozin-F?

    It comes as a tablet, syrup, and capsule to take by mouth without meal, three times a day.

    When Should Carbozin-F not be taken? (Contraindications)

    Hypersensitivity.

    Warnings and Precautions for Carbozin-F

    Keep this medication out of the reach of children. An accidental overdose of iron for a child can lead to death.

    Do not take this medication if you have too much iron builds, iron overload disorder, hemolytic anemia.

    Other Precautions for Carbozin-F

    Avoid taking antacids within two hours while taking this medication.

    Storage Conditions for Carbozin-F

    Store it in room temperature and in an airtight container. Keep away from children.
