Children: 12 years of age and over: Oral, 0.5 mg to 1 mg two times a day as needed.
Adult: 1 to 2 mg every eight to twelve hours as needed.
Increase in the thickness of lung secretions, drowsiness, abnormal heart rate, blurred vision, dizziness, dry mouth, urinary retention, confusion, vertigo, headache, nausea, constipation, painful urination, mood changes.
It comes as tablet to be taken with food.
Contraindicated in patients with glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, peptic ulcer, large prostate, pyloric stenosis, hypersensitivity, hyperthyroidism, hypertension, ischaemic heart disease, bronchial asthma and urinary retention.
Use of this medication is not recommended for children below 12 years of age.
Caution should be exercised in patients with bone marrow depression, elderly, during pregnancy and breast feeding.
Patients should exercise caution while driving or performing other task requiring alertness because it may cause drowsiness.
Do not administer azatadine subcutaneously because irritation or lesion may occur.
Avoid alcoholic beverages.
Avoid excess dosage.
Store below 40°C (104°F), preferably between 15 and 30°C (59 and 86°F), in a well-closed container.
