Why is Terfenadine Prescribed? (Indications)

This medication is an antihistamine, prescribed for allergic reactions such as runny nose, sneezing, throat irritation, red, irritated, itchy and tearing eyes.  It blocks histamine action, which reduces allergy symptoms.

When should Terfenadine not be taken? (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients who are taking antifungal drugs, ulcer drugs, antibiotics and hypersensitivity.

What is the dosage of Terfenadine?

One tablet (60 mg) twice daily for adults and pediatric patients 12 years and older.
