This medication is sclerosing agent, prescribed for varicose veins. It works by closing the varicose vein through scarring.
Contraindicated in patients with uncontrolled diabetes, an overactive thyroid, tuberculosis (TB), asthma, tumor, infection, blood disease, lung disease, skin disease, pain, swelling, or redness near the vein, bedridden, and hypersensitivity.
IV- The recommended dose is 0.5 to 2 mL.
It comes as a solution for injection to be administered by a healthcare provider into the vein.
• Caution should be exercised in patients with history of Buerger disease, hardening of the arteries, blood clots, nerve injury, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
• Extreme caution needed for newborns.
• Local :
Pain, hives, and ulceration.
• Allergic Reactions : Hives, asthma, hay fever and anaphylactic shock.
Avoid excess dosage.
Store at 20°C to 25°C.
