Pinaverium is a spasmolytic agent used for functional gastrointestinal disorders.

It is prescribed for
• Treatment and relief of symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS); symptoms that pinaerium treats are abdominal pain, bowel disturbances (constipation and/or diarrhea) and intestinal discomfort (bloating).
• Treatment of symptoms related to functional disorders of the biliary tract

It may be considered an effective first-line treatment for IBS.
It relaxes the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal and the biliary tracts, and mainly of the colon.
It relieves gastrointestinal spasms and pain.

When should Pinaverium not be taken? (Contraindications)

• Pinaverium is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to the drug or its excipients.

What is the dosage of Pinaverium?

• The recommended dose of the drug is 50 to 100 mg tablet.

How should Pinaverium be taken?

• Pinaverium should be taken three times a day or as directed by the doctor.
