Ipriflavone is a synthetic flavanoid that promotes calcium absorption into bones and inhibits bone breakdown, thus preventing osteoporosis.

Ipriflavone is used for the prevention and treatment of weak bones in postmenopausal women, and for relieving pain associated with osteoporosis. The drug promotes the incorporation of calcium into bones and inhibitis bone breakdown, thus maintaining bone density and preventing osteoporosis.

Ipriflavone is also used for the treatment of Paget's disease (a disease that disrupts the replacement of old bone tissue with new tissue.
