This medication is a positron emitting radiopharmaceutical agent, prescribed for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging for assessment of abnormal glucose metabolism to assist in the evaluation of malignancy, cardiology and epilepsy.
IV- The recommended dose for an adult (70 kg) is 185-370 MBq (5-10 mCi).
It comes as a solution for injection, to be administered by a healthcare provider into the vein.
• Caution should be exercised in patients with history of diabetes, liver or kidney disease, who are taking other medications, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
• Drink adequate water 4 hours before this treatment procedure.
Hypersensitivity reactions with itching, swelling and rash.
Avoid excess dosage.
Store it at room temperature (25°C).
